We miss chances and opportunities | God and you

“What you don’t know can’t hurt you” – ever heard this saying before? I believe it’s an idea quite similar to my topic for this entry. You won’t know what you’ve missed until someone who knows what could have been would tell you. Why do people miss God-given opportunities?

Missed opportunity

We don't know what our glass of blessings have missed because of our lack of faith and fear

Let’s take it from the Bible

Reading 2 Chronicles 15:17, it says that king “Asa’s heart remained completely faithful throughout his life.” Now that is a very rare and difficult compliment to achieve from the Bible – and Asa was one of those kings who have evidently achieved it.

But right on the next chapter we can see that Asa has made some wrong decisions late in his reign and lifetime. 2 Chronicles 7 says “Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram instead of in the Lord your God, you missed your chance to destroy the army of the king of Aram.”

Setting Life Standards | God and you

We all have standards in life. You and me. Some of your standards could be that you don’t want to live at your parent’s house forever, some could be that you want to take a bath twice a day, etc. There are lots of different kinds of standards that we have set – conciously and/or unconsciously.

Setting standardsWhere do we get our standards?

Our standards don’t just pop into our heads like an idea. It is made and formed out of lifestyle. Simply put, we get our standards from wants and don’t wants.

We see the lives of other people. We see the lives of our parents, our siblings, our friends. We see the lifestyles of each and every person we meet and know – and from there we then come to a realization of what we want out life to be. You can say that we compare and measure the lives we want with the lives we’re seeing and experiencing now.

Facebook Connect Comments for Wordpress — SEO Hacker

If you’ve noticed, I’ve got a new commenting tool onboard and what’s so great about it is that it is connected to Facebook!

I’ve had a REALLY hard time trying to code this manually. I felt like I was grasping on straws – especially with Thesis Theme (Coz Thesis doesn’t allow you to meddle with the php core codes – which I needed to do).

The Art of SEO — SEO Hacker

SEO Art

Lots of SEO practitioners in our world today see SEO as a task. They see it as work. They see it as a bunch of quotas that they need to accomplish. And if you don’t love what you’re doing, you’re most probably one of those guys. Well I say SEO is an art.

The big picture

When you look at it on a bigger scale, you can’t do SEO without a strategy and plan. That strategy and plan can only be made when you really understand the business and it’s customers. The only way you can understand the business and customers is to interact directly with them and try to get a feel of it yourself.

Basics of Building an Email Subscription List — SEO Hacker

Email Marketing

What is rule number one to internet marketing? Never, ever forget- the money is in the list.

Here in the industry, the A-listers are the ones with the largest email addresses on their database, and mind you, the can range to a hundred thousand emails. Imagine you have that kind of number (or even just a portion of it) and then try to think of all the profitable possibilities of just sending an email blast to those people? That’s exactly why the big internet marketers refer to their email lists as their personal ATM machine. Sounds exciting right?

Setting your goals in life | God and you

Was having FroYo with some friends from church one day. The conversation was going well until one of them suddenly cried out “Oh no, I’m turning 24 next year!” So what’s so bad about 24?

goals

Set your goals

This entry  has been inspired by that YOUNG lady (who is most probably going to be the first to read this) and by my own experiences and questions in life.

“I’m almost 24!”

“I have no business yet.”

“I have nobody courting me yet.”

I feel like my life is unfulfilled…”

Often we have a certain goal at a certain age. I know I do. And sometimes it gets to us when we are not moving as fast as we want to be moving and we realize that ‘age’ is slowly creeping by.

How can you Understand the Mind of God? | God and you

A lot of people want to understand things in the perspective of God. Why did He do this? Why did He do that? Why do we experience this in this world? Why does God allow this? And the list goes on and on… Just how do you understand the mind of God?

Thinking statueThis entry has been inspired by my personal quiet time and the book “The love of God” By John MacArthur.

I’ve been reading 1 Chronicles as I go through my sixth time around finishing the Bible. It’s mind-boggling how the Bible changes in personal reflection as life goes by. It has never had the same meaning to me as I’ve read it five times before. And this time around, there was a certain verse that stood out to me as I reflected and meditated on it’s meaning. This is what the verse says:

“Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.” - 1 Chronicles 21:1

How to let a relationship go | God and you

Someone once told me, ‘do not hold on to a blessing too tightly that you aren’t willing to let go anymore’. I think there is wisdom with what she said. And don’t we all struggle with that? Especially when we’re blessed with a relationship?

Letting go

Letting go is never easy

This entry has been inspired by my relationship with a good friend of mine who ignited this wisdom and experience in me. To you, I give my thanks.

I’ve been blessed with so many friends. And we as human beings experience relationships here and there. It is part of us. We need relationships – it is our design to desire such. And for some part of my life, I’ve been blessed with a special relationship that I was holding on so tightly to.

Kinds of Keywords: Product Defining Keywords — SEO Hacker

keyword Research

Talking about Customer defining keywords in the previous lesson, let’s now move on to product defining keywords. What are product defining keywords and why are they important?

What are product defining keywords?

Product defining keywords are keywords that describe your product best. These are the keywords your average searcher will type in the text area of Google if they are looking for a specific product, service or idea that they want to acquire or get information about.

Hi Sean! How will my heart know that it's God talking to me? How will I be able to know that it's His voice?

You won't :)
God doesn't have a blueprint but He has given you His Word. You will know if it is His will if it is aligned in the Word of God.
As to lovelife - you have to ask help from your accountability group, read books about emotions and relationships, discern if the relationship could take you closer to God or farther from Him. Pray. Get wisdom.

Truth about Christianity | God and you

Sincerity is an aspect of our emotions. It is a feeling that empowers the will and fuels the capacity to believe. Truth on the other hand, is an unchanging fact that has nothing to do with the will, or emotions.

Road Closed

Sincerity won't change the fact that the road is closed

This entry was inspired by the preaching of pastor Peter Tan-Chi on Galatians 2

When the World tells us to shrug it off

We always hear that phrase “It doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you are sincere.” I am moved to think that it is the new modern philosophical approach to religion. Don’t you agree?
